Practise data entry with careful verification
Data entry requires preserving structure as well as typing quickly. A misplaced decimal or code can matter more than a small difference in speed.
Read fields in a fixed order
For a record such as “A-204 | 18 | 3.50”, identify the reference, quantity, and unit price before typing. Follow the same order each time so that fields do not shift accidentally.
Watch similar characters
Distinguish the letter O from zero, and I from the digit one. Preserve the capitalization and separators shown in the source. Use genuine sample data or fictional records rather than personal customer information.
Verify totals separately
When an exercise includes a total, compare it with the source after entering the record. In a typing test, copy the passage exactly; calculation practice is a separate step, and the tool evaluates what was typed.
Practise under relevant rules
Use the data-entry exam preset for numbers and symbols. Check the real employer instructions before assuming that a normalized WPM score matches a job requirement.
Practise a reference, a quantity and an amount
Create a fictional source such as “Ref A-204; quantity 18; unit 3.50; total 63.00.” Copy it in Custom text, reading each field in the same order. Check the hyphen, decimal separator and digits independently. Correct copying of 18 × 3.50 does not itself prove that an external invoice is authentic.
Use a second check for arithmetic
The typing score measures whether your input matches the displayed source. It does not independently validate every amount in material you import. Calculate important totals separately and resolve any disagreement in the source before practice. Use invented references rather than real customer identifiers, bank details or confidential records.
